For older people, the question is a given; billionaires would give almost anything to be young again, and nobody in their right mind would want to be even older, but if you're still a child, adolescent, or teenager, it does make a difference... because they still have a lot of years to go, so losing ten doesn't seem like a big deal, and getting younger means losing a lot of privileges and so on -- it might even mean becoming a baby, if you're young enough, which is totally uncool.

It depends -- if I have salsa handy, I'd take the chips. Otherwise, the chocolate, because I'm not a huge fan of potato chips or flavored chips.

I've had bananas and apples, and I'm fond of both, but I prefer apples because there's more variety of taste and texture; all the bananas I've had are about the same, whereas you can have a sour apple, or a sweeter one.
Would you rather go into a huge "haunted house" attraction for a hour, or sit in a gray, drab room and watch paint dry for six hours?
Ugh, another hard one. Hmmm... Maybe the haunted house because I've never been in one. But, if I could have my book in the room, then the room.

Definitely inside; I've never been much of an outdoorsman, and there isn't much of interest to see or do outside my house, from what I've seen. ;)

Well, I was all right at math the last time I was really into it -- okay at algebra, and might've gotten good at geometry with some practice...
... whereas with English, I've never been great at that. I think I can write sentences well, but I can't tell you how I made them. I was always awful at parsing/diagramming sentences.
It depends on what level of math or English, but I'd prefer math.

But I'd say the musical instrument -- I think I'd get tired of hearing my own voice after a while, and prefer someone else, but an instrument is something else.

Well, both of them can help save lives, but I think I'd probably rather be a policeman.
You can still help protect people, but you aren't necessarily putting their lives at risk if you make one tiny mistake.
Would you rather work for a normal amount of time and get just a passing grade (no more) in all of your classes, or have to work twice as hard as everyone else, but get the best grades?
I'd like a pretty good job when I'm older, so the second one.
Would you rather do a beep test or a vo2max treadmill test? If you don't know what either of them are, google them, they're absolute torture!
Hard to say; both of them look nice and tricky, but I think the beep test has more of an old-school feel to it -- and however hard it might be, it's possible to beat it.

Ouch, I'd hate both, but I'd say lukewarm drinking water, as I love hot showers!
Trust me, the beep test might sound nice and easy, but is absolute torture. Elite athletes get a score of about 15, and it actually is physically impossible to beat.
Would you rather listen to Justin Bieber's Baby or Rebbecca Black's Friday on repeat for 24 hours?
Well, Friday is strangely catchy... and I know this might not sound popular, but I'm not a Justin Bieber fan. I guess he's okay if you like that sort of thing, but I didn't especially like any of the songs of his that I heard.
If nothing else, Friday is one of those few classics that is so bad that it's good. I would be inclined to listen to it just for comedy value.

You can do whatever you want -- read, use a phone, eat, drink, whatever -- just provided that you don't get up from either the chair or the bed, or (if on the bed) sit or stand.
I would totally lay in a bed, simply because I have a hard time SLEEPING in a chair.

These songs will be completely unrestricted by digital rights management, so you can do anything you want with them (except burn them to new CDs and sell them, of course).

With the boring movie, you can at least make fun of it, or talk about something else over the film.
With the latter, all the film is going to be ruined because the person's going to keep asking annoying questions about everything, all story long.

I think the monkey might be amusing, but they are very dangerous, so after thinking about it, working with the pig would probably be smarter.

Not quite. ;) The situation basically was to face you with an appropriately scaled-up version of either Tsarmina or Gulo, to fight in real life.
Anyway, snakes creep me out... they aren't that bright, and some breeds, in fact, can be highly dangerous.
On the other hand, though, an ostrich is a wild, undomesticated animal; if we had spent generations trying to tame them, I guess they would be pretty useful by now, but we haven't, and so they remain what they are -- incredibly dangerous, large birds.
It's a choice between something I hate and something I would sort of like, but that I know is too risky... so I guess the snake, because I can at least sell it to someone else who likes them for some reason.

At least Jedi are loyal to each other. Besides Anikan that is. Also, Jedi fight for good not evil. Though Jedi can be very dramatic, they are very much like knights in the old days. All right, I'll admit that's a cheap response, so I won't try to cheat you out of an answer this time.
A fire means it's pretty likely that everything in the house will be ruined or destroyed -- not a good thing, especially considering we just got this house.
A crash, however, means that it's possible the car will be totaled, and there's possibly a greater chance that I and the people with me in the crash will be injured than in the fire (although the fire might harm or even kill our animals, which I hate to have happen).
I'll take the crash, because while I don't have my license right now, it's possible that it still might happen while I'm driving alone, thus minimizing the damage to a smaller number of people. Plus, there are many car accidents where nobody dies, or even is substantially injured. Maybe if I'm driving carefully enough the crash would be one of those.

That's an interesting question to ask, and I might have some insight into it since I have experienced both conditions, to an extent -- I have two sisters who're much older than I am, so they were in the house when I was young, then moved out as I grew older, and now I don't see either of them as much.
The one thing I've wondered what it'd be like to have siblings closer to my age, since I don't have any and never have. Right now, I suspect I would dislike it, because it doesn't give me as much leeway to do what I want... but that's where there's the catch.
As someone interested in alternate history, I'm acutely aware that a seemingly minor event can have a profound impact on someone's life. There are a lot of things I could've done differently in my own, some better, most worse.
If you had a sibling, though, where there previously was none, that changes everything, and adds in a myriad of possibilities. You might get along great; you might have an ongoing rivalry. It also matters whether they're a brother or a sister -- and, of course, you might even be twins, which adds another layer of detail. If you're identical, do you embrace your conformity with your sibling or abhor it?
The fact is that having siblings deeply impacts who you are as a person; it's likely that even your personality would be a bit different, as a result of having someone with you all the time, for better or for worse, and of course, the same applies for the alternative of being an only child.
So I can't give a conclusive answer to this question. Since I have siblings, I would rather have siblings, spaced away from me as they are; if I was an only child, I would rather be alone and unsurpassed. I don't think anyone can even really guess as to what would be better for them.

James, I have 3 siblings, all of them older then me. Your paragraphs were really interesting to read. Although it is true that siblings can be annoying, I still manage to find plenty of time to myself, so I'm happy enough.

Well, it depends on how you define terrible. There's some music that's so bad it's good, after all. But I like high-quality music, so having to listen to awful music for a long period of time would get to me.
However, I don't like being around annoying people, and I have less patience for people intruding in my space than most people likely do. If they left me alone, I would do what I normally do when I don't want to be bothered with people; stay on my computer, or in my room with my cat, but if they were pushy and nosy, I might very well have it out with them. If they're deliberately going to unreasonable lengths to bother me, I'd say the music would be better for the annoying person's health.

Well, I'm not so sure that it is. Any time a house cat is careless with its claws, or gets tired of your petting it and nips at you -- that'd be a mauling coming from a cougar. On the taste thing: I wanted to split those up as evenly as possible, so that it would actually be a tough question; I didn't want just a gimmie. ;)
For the eye/ear question: I think the eye. I can wear a really cool black eyepatch on top of it, and maybe get a contact lens for the remaining one. It would be extremely hard for me to have my sense of hearing, and thus my ability to listen to music or such, curtailed.
For the grape/pineapple question: I'm assuming nutrition isn't a factor. I like grapes better day-to-day, but I think pineapples can be prepared in more different fashions, so if I had to pick one forever I think I'd go with them.
For the internet/reading thing: I've done both, actually, even simultaneously. Giving up Internet access was harder for me.

In the case of the first one, you would be able to go outside, but only for fifteen seconds or so at a time. (This allows you to get into a car or something, so you can move from one building to another.) In the case of the second one, you would be allowed to stay in a tent, but you couldn't enter buildings.
I actually can't really go a day without reading something physical (i.e. not on a computer) :P
Probably indoors, so I won't be constantly rained on, I won't overheat, I won't get snowed completely in, I won't freeze, etc.

Type/Draw: Type, type, type, type. It's one of my main methods of communication ANYWAY, I'd be less impaired by that. If I said drawing, I couldn't talk to anyone on the internet, which would be a HUGE crippling blow.
Indoors/Outdoors: Indoors, 100%. I spend most of my time inside anyway, it's far too hot here to do anything outside except swimming in the summer.
Hardware/Software: Hardware, then I could kit myself out with the best of computers. Buying games is less expensive than buying a machine.
Internet/Reading: It depends. If reading only applies to offline things, I'd be fine losing that for a week. But if it means losing my ability to read altogether... Then the internet is pretty much useless anyway.

Usually the first, but my sleep schedule is often set up so that I'm up at nights and sleep during the day, so my sense of "late" isn't normally the same as everybody else's.
When I'm out of town on a trip, though, and have done a lot that day and have a lot to do the day after, I crave every bit of sleep that I can get, and I'm willing to skip many of the activities that are allegedly "fun" for that purpose.

I'd probably take the large amount anyway. The bills and the like can be quickly paid off that way, and the rest of it would go to supporting our church, perhaps one or two other good causes, and building up a disaster cushion. People might bother us for a little bit, but they'd forget about it after a little while. Nobody remembers the name of the people who won the lottery two years ago.
On the tiger -- if they're both in the wild, I'd rather get chased by the thin one. The big, fat one is obviously much better at catching prey. ;)

If I was forced to choose, probably Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. I like the portrayal of the characters better in that one. (They got Ed and Al spot on in the original, but some of the other characters weren't as likable in FMA as they were in FMA:B (*cough*Hohenheim*cough*).)

The hearing is probably more useful, but it would be hard to get by without having vision. Most of what I do, operating computer equipment, requires it. I guess I would go with the vision, but it would be the hardest decision I've made in my life. I would miss hearing very very much.
