i dont think there is another topic like this so basically you just say if you are more like matthias, abbes germaine etc, i would probably be The Wild Doogy Plum, kind of short-tempered, a bit of a joker, i actually think he's really funny, who are you most like?
me think i are captain rake nightfur
and wheres my food??????
Im diggs yeepywhoha bring in the scoff ;D
TAMMO! ;D
I'm a mix of Dinny the mole and Ranguvar Foeseeker. I know, an odd combination.
wow that is an odd combination
I'm similar to Gabool the Wild and Graylunk in overall level of sanity; I don't know about any of my other attributes.
I'm a lot like Skalrag in the way that I will hide behind someone else. I'm like none of the Redwall characters I've heard of in the way that I have a REALLY short temper. ;) Tiria Wildlough is my role-model. ;D
Hmmm... I'm probably not one of the warriors or Long Patrol hares (even though I wish I was)... I'd say possibly Durry Quill (Mariel of Redwall and The Bellmaker) or maybe Rufe Brush (same books). I'd also say Matthias or Mattimeo, minus all the heroic stuff they do. ;)
wow we have a lot of combinations here :D
Heh, I'm reading the topic, and I'm like "who, what, when, where" because a lot of these names I just don't remember or what book, or even what creature they're supposed to be. Aside from the obvious few characters, some of these you might as well have made up your own name and I wouldn't know any different. :p Perhaps you need to say what the character was (species) and what they did for those who really don't have vivid memories of the books. ;)
I think of myself a lot like Keyla--he knows what he needs to do, gets things done, even if its not the safest or easiest thing to do (e.g. staying behind with slaves when he could've easily escaped). That's pretty much me.
SKALRAG!!! And I'm not just saying that, I really am. I'm not copying Tiria, either ;). I am a coward, I hide behind some one when things start getting violent, and I get cranky easily. I think it comes with being an older sibling. ;D
I also tend to be REALLY paranoid. On my random days (usually Fridays), I kind of act like Skalrag, too. ;D
I'd say similar to a few Skippers, and in some ways similar to a character like Vizak Longtooth, who moves along and thinks through the situation, tries to make the best of it, and move on knowing the risks and analyzing the dangers.
Taggerung The Otter. like a bossss

You remind me of Durry too, Daniel. I can't say why, but when you mentioned him I immediately agreed with you.
I'm not sure who I'd be like. Who's a character that was always in the background and never did anything special? That'd be me. ;)
Umm...I don't know. You are downgrading yourself too much. You've done lots of special things on this site

Hmmmmm, Dotti, yes a lot like her. I could also possibly be like Celendine at times, but I'm not THAT dramatic. I also think I'm a little like Vilaya, I like sitting around and ordering people around.
I'm most like Matthias. My dad is always saying so. ;D
At school everyone calls me Slagar...but I'm nothing like him. BWAHAHAHA!

I also agree with this one!
i knew you had a match, walla! no one on my topic dosen't have a match or my name isn't skipper (of redwall) ;D
I think I'm most like Friar Butty from the Long Partrol and Marlfox. He was a squirrel and an excellent cook, and helped find the treasure under the Abbey in the Kotir ruins.
I also find a lot in common with the stoic Rufe Brush, who was hardworking and intelligent and strong. I loved when he honored Fatch by naming one of Finnbarr's swords after him.
Taggerung
explain how you are like him, what do you share personality wise etc
I'd probably say Skipper from Mossflower. I usually like to take things easy, just like Skipper and his crew
Of all the Redwall characters I know of, I'd say I'm a lot like Ashleg. I'm always in the wrong place at the wrong time. >:(
wow..thats unlucky, but i bet you are more like someone else :)
I'd like to think that I'd probably be like Friar Hugo. I like to cook, and I am on the Fat side. Lol :)
I'm like Gonff I'm really good at stealth and lock picking.
I'm probably most like Doogy Plumm (that's why he's my favorite character). I'm argumentative but loyal to my friends. Oh yeah, and I also love to climb trees.
Any bloodrath creature. I have anger issues and I like to fight.
I took a couple of quizzes, and apparently I'm somewhere in between Grath Longfletch and Gonff. I'd have to say I'm more like Gonff though.
I'd say I'm similar to Mhera, or Triss
um idk if i could mx them i would be gulo/basil/rakketytam/gonff
I'd say a mixture of Matthias and Danflor from Marlfox. In a pinch I have been reliable/brave, but I tend to need more encouragement or prodding than I should.
I'd really like to be like Janglur Swifteye, though; he's so calm and confident under pressure. For some reason, he's one of the characters that have stuck with me the most throughout reading the Redwall series; particularly how he deals with the two Marlfoxes at the beginning of the book. That and Tagg from Taggerung, of course. *pokes name*
This is tough...I suppose I'd be Silent Sam, since I was a selective mute as a kid... :-[
Then again, I don't really like heights so I don't think I would be a squirrel.
If not Silent Sam, then definitely Sunflash the Mace; since I have a fighting and resilient side to me, but I still greatly prefer peace to war (like Sunflash settling down); and also because I take great pride in being loyal (especially to my smaller but close group of friends). And finally, they say badgers are very protective of their family; likewise, without my family and friends I'd be lost!
On a random note, Skarlath's death is still one that saddens me the most...he died by returning the help Sunflash showed him at the beginning of the book. Gotta love Outcast of Redwall!

A hare, maybe...
I think I'm a lot like Mokken the Marlfoxe's axe. I'm sharp, sometimes I can fly off my handle, and I like to get stuck into things, (mostly a tree stump.) XD
I would probably be a mix of a Badger Lord and a hare.
I am a "hardy" eater, (I have an emmense appetite and usually eat 24/7 or whenever I can lay my hands on food) but I am calm and smart. However, like a Badger Lord, I can get angry when I get into a fight with someone.
A Weasel, of courze!
I think, Dorothea Duckfontein Dillworthy.

Maybe... Leatho Shellhound? ;D
Yes, that's a good guess. But I mean who else do you think is like me?
Rab Streambattle?
Inbar Trueflight?
Skipper?

Yeah, to bad. there are some people on here that seem like they would be fun to meet.
I'd say a cross twixt Rangval the Rogue and Abbot Mortimer. Mortimer as in, I hate violence, not as in, I'm an idiot, so I'm going to let the evil conquering rats into my abbey because they're pretending to be peaceful and are very obviously not. Not that Mortimer is often an idiot, just not very learned at all in battle tactics. Much more ridiculous in the tv series, though.

I don't want to put you in a box. I think every person really is unique to the point where it's hard to pin a character to a person because of the fear of giving them traits that don't quite match up with them and which they wouldn't like to say they have.
To mention really specific similarities, though, I think you are like Gingivere in your kindness and a bit like Deyna or Methuselah or Rollo in your curiosity. Do I sound off?
Anyways, the wishy-washiness of this very post makes a point: I think I'm like Mordalfus, in that I'm willing to reflect on a problem to the point of obsession, but I'm not easily willing to come to a concrete decision about that problem until the answer becomes inarguable to me. Often times, the answer doesn't become inarguable.
I'd also totally be the one to let Slagar come into the Abbey. "I don't trust these guys, but... if they really
are a circus band, how could I possibly excuse myself for kicking them back out onto the road?"
I've also got Gonff's constant daydreaming, Umfry Spikkle's general displeasure for schooling and/or work, the average recorder's night-owlry, Bryony's wishing that everybody would just be good, and some of Matthias' sense of righteous indignation.
EDIT:

I'm kinda' like Marial or a random otter maid ;D
Shogg all the way(caue my nickname at the shop is shogg).
I'd probably be a mix between blaggut & slipp
Kinda weird! But who cares!
I have been told that I am gonff a couple of times.
I have no idea what I'd be... ???
I don't know! ???
Revive!
I was told by Blazemane quite awhile ago that I would either be Gingivere or the one hedgehog from Eulalia. I think I understood what he meant, so I feel Ok with those choices.
Oh, let's see; I have the appetite of a Long Patrol hare, the cheekiness (and occasional tendency towards light-hearted theft) of Gonff, and the fairly quiet, conflict-avoidant nature of Bluefen (Veil's mother). I also looove spicy foods (I add a mix of cayenne and habanero powder to just about everything I eat), so I guess there's a bit of your average otter in there as well.
I've liked Banya Streamdog since meeting her in The High Rhulain, and only lately have I realized why she so strongly appeals to me. She can be both a leader and a follower; she's level-headed and fiercely loyal; she's defiant and eager to fight for those she loves; she's apprehensive of newcomers and is not quick to befriend or trust others; she also has that roughness about her that distinguishes sea otters from other otters. Loyalty and defiance are her strongest character traits.
I think I'm like a weird mix of Gonff, Slagar the Cruel, Hon Rosie/Beau, and Tsarmina... maybe a little bit like Dotti because I'm kind of like her and I can't sing ;D
I.... really do not know. This would be so much easier if this were just characters in general, I would probably say that I would be a mix between Galadriel from Lord of the Rings and Elsa from Frozen (closer to Galadriel, though. There needs to be more guy characters like that. :P ). Anyway.. I do not know whom I would be like from the Redwall universe. Anybody have any ideas?
Plugg, you remind me of many of the most notable Recorders. Firstly, Egbert the Scholar: an avid reader and writer who deviates from the norm (your font of choice=Egbert's chosen spoken dialect) and avoids conflict (aka the Cellars). Secondly, Tim Churchmouse: a calm yet youthful personality. Thirdly, Craklyn: active, clever, and a good friend. Finally, Abbess Germaine: wise, peaceful, remarkable, soft-spoken yet venerable.
I wouldn't exactly say the original Plugg Firetail is your spirit animal.
Cluny is a lot like me, actually.
.......
Possibly Abbot Carrul. I'm pretty bad when my blood is roused.
Well I think its kinda easy for me, I'm clearly some hare from the books, take your pick on which one. I'm going to put my finger on Buckler from the Sable Queen.
I am a patriot, there's no other word for it. I am a skilled fighter and lots of people consider me selfish and I have few real friends. But the argument could be made that I am a squirrel as well. I love to climb and lead and I hate losing.
My nickname is Squirrel and lost of people refer to me that way. If I was to pick a squirrel that I am most similar too it would be Rufe Brush from Mariel of Redwall not the Rufe Brush from Bellmaker I am nothing like the squirrel in Bellmaker Its like Brain made an entirely new character in the sequel.
Lady Amber from Mossflower. That actually used to be my username, before I changed it to Nightfire. ;D

Ahahaha, I would say that I am nothing like the character Plugg Firetail, as you said. My younger self admired him for the way he stood up to Princess Kurda, hence the username.
Egbert always was my favorite mole. Although I cannot see myself alone in a little hole; maybe alone on a mountain where there is a tremendous view and the winds are free (whoa, calm down there inner Elsa. :P ). The others that you mentioned seem to be similar to me as well, I just do not have an issue on their places of residence. ;) You are a good analyst of character.

Which one? :D (Thank you though! ^^)
I don't know much about you still, but I want to say you're a cat or fox just based on your name :P I would say you're like the wildcat from Redwall, Squire Julian Gingivere.
Thinking it About it, I would be amid of Gingivere, Buckler, and Egbert. I tend to be very different from people want me to be like Gingevere, Sabe a little with Buckler, Plus I share his taste of adventure, and finally Egbert, still following the broken mold. Plus with him, he reads and writes a lot and is solitary like I do and an like, so I guess a good match.
I'm not really sure who I'm like. Maybe some shrew :P
@Gonff: Those three all make sense, but I think Gingivere fits you the most of all.
@Mhera: Maybe the character you're named after ;)
And shrews are cool, anyway xD I like the Log-a-Log from Matthias' time. He was, to put it in few words, what a leader should be like.
I actually rooted for Ungatt Trunn when he was hating on Pitru :P
I would say I am more like Hon Rosie. Love food the eating part, not so much the cooking part, though I would prefer to cook myself then to let some one else make it and ruin it... I also like talking, a lot, to the point where it can drive people crazy, and complaining and debating but I know when to stop and be serious. I like leading when I out rank every one but I am happy to had over the torch when some one older and more experienced or even equal to me comes along.
I am a long patrol hare. I eat a lot and then some more and I can hold my own in a fight.

Lookadis! I do believe I've found the Redwall Online Community.
Hi, y'all! I'm Laurel, a new squirrelie to this place! Here's a lil' bit 'bout me before I begin:
I originally discovered the series in my creative writing class in 2016. (I'm actually sour for not discovering this earlier!) My teacher had a copy of Taggerung lying on the shelf, unread, so I decided to pick it up. I've been searching for the right fantasy series for a very long time, so I was very satisfied when I first read about Sawney Rath and the Juskarath Clan. I was amazed at how well written they were for children's books; much better than the Warriors series by Erin Hunter and more descriptive than most teens / young adult books. This summer, I picked up copies of The Pearls of Lutra and The Bellmaker to read. I even recommended the series to a friend, who is now beginning their own journey with Redwall.
I have not experienced this much fun with a book series since my (at the time) newly established friend circle read the Warriors series for the first time. I didn't know where exactly to post since there isn't a "newbies" section, but I hope I'm helping to spread the joy of Mr. Jacques' works!
So far, my favorite character is either Sunflash the Mace, Deyna, Auma, and Lady Cregga Rose Eyes.
There's a welcome thread for introductions, so that everyone might see it more clearly. (http://www.redwallabbey.com/forum/index.php?topic=177.0)
I'm Ashleg, resident pine marten. I too read Warriors before finding Redwall. And I agree that Redwall beats it by a long shot.
Sawney Rath is awesome.
EDIT:
Jaaaaaames!
Welcome to the forum,
@Laurel of Mossflower !
I just retook the redwall character quiz and got:
74% Keyla (almost forgot about that character! I liked them though!)
73% Tammo <--- YUUUUS!
72% Gonff (heh heh.... nice)
What's the link to the Redwall quiz, please? Think that would help me because I forget the characters otherwise!
I just googled "What Redwall Character are you quiz" and picked the first one that popped up. I don't recall the site name, sorry :/
I got Basil Stag Hare! ;D ;D ;D
Is there a link?
Apparently I'm Gonff... Dunno... Thought he was a bit annoying XD

I second that
I don't know... I thought he was kind of funny. though I guess I can kinda see what you mean. ;D
"Irrepressible."
I'm Rose!!!
I hate the way se died in the cartoon...
The way she was blindingly running through the battle while staring at Martin the whole time. It felt so stupid and it could have been easily avoided.

yeah, i guess she did go out with more of a bang in the book. (I guess everyone is supposed to like the damsel-in-distress) Though, damsel-in-distress is definitely not how i see Rose. :) º-)
haven't seen that far in the cartoon, but that seems like a pretty lame way to go.
To make you feel better, Juniper dies a slightly less lame way then in the book
how does he die in the show?
Spoiler
He drops his sling and has to go back for it and is shot
not much better at all. :P
Not better that jumping from hiding to shout to the world, "LOOK GUYS, I GOT ONE" before getting shot?
comparitivly sure, but all in all super lame. I guess they all can't go like Lord Stonepaw, I guess.
I do believe I said,

I'm just happy that he died a little bit less lamely. yeah.
I just did another quiz and I came out as Clecky, And before that I was Basil, so I guess I'm definitely hare-ish material.
I might not take another one of these quizzes for a while 'cause I contradict myself and my answers are always different...I am content with being Rose.
I don't think I'm the heroic type so this probably isn't super accurate, but I got Matthias and Martin
Most any otter tbh, not really preferences but more behavior and personality
I got Mariel. I need to read that book!
Martin the Warrior. Clever and strong, you can also be very hotheaded. You are a natural leader, and your friends automatically look up to you in times of danger.

They said I was Grath...
She's one of my least favorite characters.
