I ain't. :(
Nope. Sadly. :'( :-\
Yes! I met him on his Doomwyte tour in New York City. He was quite possibly the nicest person I've ever met!
:o Did he sign anything?
Yes, I've met him twice. Both experiences were great. He signed two items per person at each event. If you want the full story for both, I can provide links.

You two are so lucky!!! :o :o
I didn't.
Very fortunate those who did! :)
Sadly no, since I was introduced to the series in January 2011. So I never even got to follow what was happening...
no
Unfortunately, no!

:o Did he sign anything?
Yeah! :D he signed my favorite book:
The Long Patrol. In it, he wrote: "To my pal, Luke the Warrior! -Brian Jacques" (my name is luke). Then he signed high Rhulain and Doomwyte for me. I talked with him for quite a while and learned all about the things he put in his books. For example, he always loved writing about the food. "It's all about the food!" He told me, "When I was growing up, there wasn't a lot of food during the war. It was all rationed and I was hungry!" So that's why he always writes about feasts and such :). After talking for a bit, I presented him with a notebook of my own redwall characters, carefully sketched out (as well as a 7th grader could XD) with character bios for each. He seemed to like it! I told him I didn't expect to see any in future books, but I wanted to show him how much his stories meant to me and let him see my version of Mossflower's inhabitants. I found out that it made the trip home with him because Sandra Jacques (I do not know the connection to Brian. It could be a relative, spouse, or daughter) emailed me a couple of weeks later making sure I was okay with Brian keeping it, and I didn't want it simply signed and returned. It was the greatest feeling ever! I let them keep it, though I may never know if he had kept it on his desk next to his pen, or it made its way to the waste basket. Regardless, I'm happy he got to see it! ;D
I got talking to his publisher from penguin books, too. He asked if I had owned The Legend of Luke, to which I replied "not yet". A few days later, I received a package in the mail from the publisher. It was a hard copy of TLOL with a note: "to luke, a book about Luke! With compliments from the author. -Michael Greene"
It was an experience I will NEVER forget. Even as a senior in high school looking at colleges, I still can close my eyes and see it all happen as if it is still right before me! I can promise all of you that if he was still alive, he'd like to see such a community as this forum! Maybe he'd even look at the Fanfictions?? ;)

awesome!
I never got to meet him,i acctualy only started reading his books a few months after his death.
Wait...the poll says three people have met BJ. Who's the third?
Captain Tammo, that's so great! How fortunate you were! :D
I never met him :'( I started reading Martin the Warrior at the start of 2011, but I couldn't really read it and didn't finish it. But a long time later I heard my brother talking about redwall. I can't remember who with but I left really left out so I went to where the redwall books we own were and started to read Mossflower. I loved it and I did go back and read MTW and loved it as well. And now I'm the biggest redwall fan in my family, I never shut up about it, and I'm even making a quilt (its like a big thick blanket to those who don't know) of the Redwall. I'm basing it off my Redwall map and riddler and I'm adding things in that are not in the map. I wish I could have met Brian Jacques. But even if I had gotten into Redwall earlier I don't know if I would have met him. :( I remember when I first heard that he had died, I'd just got into Redwall :'(

That's me, sorry I didn't post yet. I was able to meet him twice.
I didn't really start to take any interest in the Redwall books until spring of last year, so there was no way I could've met him.
Hi CrazyPug37 where've you been ;)

oh dear well it's nice to have you back :)
I wasn't able to meet him, sadly. I started reading after his death.
:'( this topic makes me want to cry b/c I really would have loved to met Brian Jacques :'(
Me too. Such a pity. :-\
Yeah *goes and crys in a corner*
I never met him, but I have friends who did. One of them told me that Brian had said he looked like a mouse
Brian allegedly told someone they looked like a mouse?
Anyway, I watched those vids on YouTube of Brian on his Doomwyte tour in 2008, and I just so wish I could've met him! :'( He was absolutely hilarious and seemed like such a cool guy!
Nope, I've never met Brian Jacques, but I have seen videos of one of his tours on YouTube, and I think he would have been a very interesting person to meet. I wish I had had the opportunity to meet this incredible author.
Not yet, but I hope to see soon.

It might just be fan really new to Redwall who doesn't know that Brian Jacques passed away.
Maybe... but their signature links to some company.

Hmm... I don't know. The account does have another post that looks legitimate, but who knows.
Why don't you ask it? ;D

That's sounds a little scary...check the buisness link in his signature. If it is something that looks suspicious, then....
Remember guys, if you ever see a suspicious post or user, just report the post.
I was going to see Jacques when he came to Dallas, but he died shortly before the trip. I will always be disappointed about that... *sad face*

How sad and dissapointing! Did you cry at all? I so would have! :'(
I did. :'( But it was a sad day for all of us.
Or whichever day we found out, anyway.

I had never heard of BJ until a year after he died. :-\
I remember feeling weird before I went on to the site, about 2 days after he died. I thought "something is not right" and sure enough when I logged on, there was his obituary :'(
No, I wrote a letter to his son,but no reply!:-(

Maybe she means the Redwall website - not redwallabbey.com/forum, which is practically another website.
I think it's the address on the Contact page next to the Forum tab up above. I'm pretty sure his son handles the company at this point, but I could be wrong. It's either his son or brother, I know that.

Ungatt, when you're on this forum, in the address bar does it say "redwallabbey.com/forum", or just "redwallabbey.com"? If it says the latter, type in "/forum" and then you get the forum full-screen without the links across the top. I'm thinking this is what Firetail's seeing. :)

Here, I get what your saying. But is Firetail talking about the shop on this websire? Because the shop on THIS website is on the same site as the Forum is.
This is the website: redwallabbey.com-Brian Jacques the official website

Technically they are the same website. The forum area is like a different page on a website. But even though they are the same website, they aren't really managed by the same people anymore.
