How do people feel about doing a ficathon over the summer? We could make it a competition or just for fun.

You mean Northern Hemisphere winter, right?

And what would this 'ficathon' entail?

Basically, each person has two or three story prompts that they send to the ficathon organiser person via pm. Said person then collects all of the story prompts and sends a couple to each person, who then chooses one and writes a story for it. (it doesn't have to be a set length. Make it as short or long as you like) Then, at the due date, everyone posts their stories and we all get to read them. If it's a competition, somebody will judge them or maybe people can vote and the winner will be decided.
