What did you think of Redwall after you read one book for the first time?

I felt really excited and thought I was in a new world when I read Lord Brocktree & I went immediately for another book.

I had basically the same thoughts. The series had been recommended to me several times and, even though I had no idea how everything worked, I assumed I'd find out as I read more. (Plus the poetry was awesome)
