You may begin your duel here whenever you are ready! Before you start make sure you have read the rules for dueling here and the rules and basics for the roulette here.

You will have until Dec 31st to complete this duel.

Blaggut

Gehrin lay under the bush next to the tree. It was uncomfortable, but experience made him hide. His haversack of food hadnt fit to well though, it was on the other side of the path. Blinking sleep from his eyes, he heard the comforting noise of the river.

Edit: Are you here?

"You an' Jerrex stay 'er." A weasel whispered to him companions.

"Aw, why do I always 'ave to wait wid Jerrex!" A small rat whined.

"Shurrup! That otter'll 'ear you!" The weasel clapped the rat off side the head. "Now, wait 'er!"

Jerrex stood still, listening to the surrounding area.

"Taking food from this beast is a bad idea Rengul." His voice issued soft and reedy.

"Who asked you eh? Yer nothin' but a big blind waste of space." The rat scowled as Rengul made for the haversack the otter had left on the other side of the road.

Jerrex did not respond to the name calling. Now was not the time. He would pay the rat back later, but for now best to keep quiet. Not long later Rengul returned with the sack.

"We gotta git outta here. I think I saw th otter move. I don't want to tangle with no otters." He shoved the sack into Jerrex's chest.

"Take this and meet us by the river or we ain't helping you no more."

Jerrex nodded and turned to split paths with the weasel and rat. It was true, he used them as protection as he was blind. What they didn't know was that he could get along fine on his own as well. Staying with a group was just safer.

The blind fox strayed from the path, making his way closer to the river. If he could hide in the marshes or meadows nearby perhaps he would go undiscovered by the otter.

Blaggut

The otter heard a voice and saw a beast take the haversack. He inched out of the bush and went into the surrounding undergrowth. He followed the beasts.

Jerrex knew he was being followed. The blind fox could sense other creatures and the one following him was not making it too difficult. The place where they traveled had tall grass and the sound of some beast coming through tall grass was unmistakable.

The fox moved on and hunkered down, hoping to stay out of sight. The haversack was not too heavy and so he was able to move with it without much trouble.

I hope he moves on. I'm not in the mood to fight. That blasted Rengul. He set me up for this. I'll kill 'im!

Jerrex thought to himself as he waited to see if he would be spotted.

Blaggut

The otter lost sight of the vermin, and walked right into Jerrex!

The blind fox grunted as the otter ran into him. He quickly pulled his knife and scooted back and away from the other beast. He didn't speak, just readied himself for crossing blades.

Jerrex stood slowly and dusted himself off, sensing what was going on around him. There was a slight wind blowing and he could smell the river. The fox growled low and waited to see what the otter would do.

Blaggut

The otter saw Jerrex and gasped. "A verm.. A creature!" he quickly corrected, remembering his upbringing. "How do you do?" he said lamely, not very well hiding his surprise.

Jerrex grunted to the question. It was not his way to converse with otters. Otters had caused him more trouble than he cared to think about. He could sense where his opponent stood from where the words has issued.

He moved forward with a quick thrust, aimed at the otter's middle.

Blaggut

Gherin had hoped he this wouldn't happen. He jumped right and brought the blade down hard on the staff. Knowing that this fox was fully ready to kill him, he pulled out a throwing knife, ready to throw if needed.

Jerrex felt as though the otter might be up to something. He had moved the staff at the last moment, keeping him from painful reverberations up his paws. The fox backed off a few paces, trying to think of how to remedy this situation. He would die if he continued to fight this way. After all, he was blind. There was only so much he could sense.

"I jus' wanted some food. I was hungry as were my friends. They made me take your whole haversack."

The fox whined, hoping to beg a little pity from the otter.

Blaggut

Gherin was to sympathetic for his own good. "Ok, I'll let you take half." He didn't think that it might be a trick, as he sheathed his knife..

Edit: Occ: what happens if we don't finish In time?

OOC: I don't see why we wouldn't finish in time...

Jerrex heard the knife go into the sheath. Now was his chance! The fox lunged forward and jabbed at the otter with his long knife. Maybe he could injure the beast enough to keep him from following Jerrex to their camp location.

Blaggut

Gehrig knew the fox was trouble now. He pulled out a dagger, threw it, and then swung the sword down and left at the fox's middle.
