Wot, wot!

"Get him! Grab that spy! I want his head!"
Basil chuckled. "What's the matter? Isn't your own head good enough? No, I don't suppose it is. Ugly-looking brute, aren't you?" -Basil to Cluny the Scourge (Redwall)

The scene where Brag and Saro died was a real tearjerker.

In Pearls of Lutra when the Abbot was stuck alone on the ship with the entire crew and lizards dead and starvation lead him to go temporarly crazy. Thought about that part for days. How it would feel to clear an entire ship of dead bodies and have to survive alone with next to no food.

I was reading Legend of Luke recently and I never noticed until this time how sad it was how the Goreleech came and killed most of the tribe while Luke was gone. So sad!

Hickory

Actually, I think Ripfang was the one who finished off Luke's tribe after Badrang came and went. Vilu never went back.

Outside of the Abbey, I was upset by Shogg's death in Triss, especially after all he had been through.  He deserved a life of peace and freedom that he never saw.

Shogg's death got me, yet I find myself re-reading that scene often. I find it the epitome of a heroic and tragic moment (of course, there still are many other examples). Even though it's depressing, it's one of my favorite parts.

ROSE! That was soooooo sad!
I agree! That was the saddest thing I have read in a children's book! Her death basically made Martin depressed!

The Skarzs

I believe the word "basically" isn't needed. ;) Her death changed Martin's life drastically.
