Having been a Titanic geek a while ago, I beg to differ. The last smokestack on the Titanic was to balance out the weight. And yes, I realize this post was made a really really long time ago.

 Feeding birds rice doesn't make them explode. While rice does expand when exposed to liquid, the rate of expansion is much too slow to do anything to the birds' innards.
