He, the hare, and Triss ran from Kurda and Bladd near the beginning, then they proceeded to just follow Triss around for the rest of the book I think.

Yep  just finished readin' it.

No, no, you have it all turned around. That was Shogg. Kroova was the parentless otter that had the boat the stopdog. He helped Sagax and Scarum (the hare) to run away. He stayed behind at the abbey when Triss and co. went off to fight the adders and vermin. He helped free the slaves at Riftguard, and saved the life of the otter maid sleeve which he married at the end.

I read the books as I bought them from where ever so triss happened to be the last book I got.

The reason it took me longer was we were reading the books in publication order and Martin wanted to read them first so I had to wait until she finished a book until I read it.
