Just a though, how did a tropical tortoise survive in a land of ice and snow?

That tortoise was Oogway and his chi could warm him.

Most likely it went into some sort of hibernation. Reptiles are cold blooded so I imagine the lands of Ice and Snow did something akin to cyrogenically freezing it.

Hmm...

I was thinking that after they "brought it from the land beyond the sun" that he would have kept in indoors by his throne that would presumably be by a large fire, but if it was for any length of time I am sure it would affect his health somehow...
