So what were they SUPPOSED to do? Arrest her? She was far too dangerous to let out among other beasts. Like said before, if anything, it was an act of MERCY. To both Fortunata, and all the beasts she would have come across. Please explain what was so cowardly about an execution?

you are right.they couldnt take her to redwall as it was not built yet and there where no other buildings to put her in.
