   From what I've heard, there may be some credence to the Star Trek method of warp travel- distort space behind and in front of you to push you forwards... Use time and space to perpetually slingshot yourself forward, as I understand it. I'm not sure how credible that idea is, however if I'm not mistaken (And I may well be) I believe NASA has at least considered it.

Still, humans will almost definitely not travel space in my lifetime. Which makes me very sad... Even if we get to travel space, I won't get to be a part of it... Or even know that it's happening. :(

That is what I heard also.
It is unfortunate that regular space travel might not happen soon. It was looking optimistic until the Virgin Galactic crash.

Right. Virgin Galactic and another company, Space X, were in a race for commercial space flight. Virgin Galactic got there new "Spaceship 2" up in the air, but it soon crashed. One of the pilots was killed and the crash is said to have setback commercial space flight at least 5 years.
