Has anybody noticed how the Long Patrol song in the Long Patrol is also sung by tarquin in mariel? only double appearence, I think.

Anyway, I suppose redwall songs are based of of traditional British tunes. Any thoughts?

Since I've never listened to the audiobooks, I can't say but from what I've seen in the books, I think they're entirely made up.

Since I've got Martin the Warrior sitting right here, one of my favourite scenes is where Keyla and Rose sing to each other to arrange the escape of Martin, Felldoh and Brome.  When the vermin guards accost Keyla, he makes up a ditty about fake ailments that the guards - hilariously enough - take seriously.
