Who was the best leader? Who had the most effective army? Who was the best tactician? Who was the smartest? Who was the Strongest? Etc...

I'd have to say either Cluny or Damug. Both of them instill fear in their hordes and are very much in charge, they both come up with pretty good tactics for winning and both have accomplished a very large win in the redwall universe. Cluny managed to conquer Redwall and Damug, I belive killed the most redwallers out of all the hordes in the battle of the ridge of a thousand. I think I would have to side more with Cluny, he didn't loose because he told everyone to stop fighting so he could take prisoners.

shisteer of nothing much

I've only read the books with Cluny and Gabool, so I'm not sure about the others, but, out of the two, I'd have to say Cluny. I'm sure Gabool was a fearsome fighter in his day but, by the time we met him, he was already going mad.
I have a shiny thing! See?

Long live the RRR!
