I've been thinking about how there hasn't been much activity in the topmost boards of our forum, which is ironic because that's the foundation of this place. The Redwall discussion boards are the heart of the Redwall forums. I've found the topics there interesting and thought-provoking (though I too am guilty of not using them often!).

I'm not sure if starting a whole committee for this is really such a great idea, but I'd like to hear what you think - and mind you, please be tactful! ;)

I'm thinking we could think of new topic ideas here and maybe discuss how to increase involvement in those boards.

Thank you for your interest :)

  There's a point at which one gets burnt out over a single topic, which is why many of the older members have not been posting. I can speak for myself when saying that I have made several posts in said boards in the past week, but others are simply tired of talking about the same topic.
  Newer members are usually the ones posting, so when they post, I try to. There's not much we can really do to try to make a committee intended to boost posting in those boards, but we can try to make the effort of posting as individuals.

Hopefully we can make those boards more active by posting in them and encouraging others as well.

Unfortunately, encouragement and good example only go so far.

How about a new rule: everybody has to post in a discussion forum at least once in a day if they want to post anywhere else on the forum that day. Lack of compliance with this rule would be punished.

That seems like an awful rule. It would be a chore to post there, just so you could post in a topic or such you were posting in. No body wants to be bombarded by that.
I want the world of Tolkien,
The message of Lewis;
The adventure of Jacques,
And the heart of Milne.
But I want the originality of me.

So it's too much of an inconvenience to post about Redwall on the Official Redwall Abbey Forum? ;)

I'm fairly certain you're joking but yes, it's probably an inconvenience to write something meaningful on a worn out topic that you might have no interest in. I personally have commented on every thread that interested me but since this is Redwall, it's quite straightforward and therefore the threads that interest me are very few.

"Understood." Will looked at Nico. "Will you be my buddy?"
"You're a dork," Nico announced.

Yes, it would be nothing short than awful. I mean, of course you are joking but that would only bring horribly uninteresting, forced topics.
