It has been five years today since Brian Jacques passed away.  Let's honor the man whose amazing books brought us all together.

I know that, through Redwall, a whole world was opened to me that I wouldn't have entered otherwise - you guys, two years and four months of awesomeness (and counting), fanfiction, you guys, other book series I might not have read, and did I mention you guys?  Thank you, Mr. Jacques.  I wish I could've met you.

Mr. Jacques has influenced me far beyond his books. He gave me the final leap to start writing my book. He inspired others to make this forum that has changed my life forever. He set me up in a way so that I could explore the world of writing, and improve upon my own. Honoring him today is more than paying homage to a great author, but to a man that has changed ones life forever. Thank you, Mr. Brian Jacques.

With Brian Jacques, I dare say that I wouldn't be half the person I am now. The influence he has had on my life is incalculable. He will be remembered both near and far, by Redwallers of all ages and walks of life, for the world he created and fostered growth in. We will not forget you, Brian. Never.

Brian Jacques pretty much made my childhood. Redwall inspired my imagination (it's really good at that). I got to know him through his work, and man was he an awesome guy! Seriously, his sense of humor came through in Redwall, as well as his sense of adventure, and mischief. I think Redwall taught me a sense of all that, of adventure, humor, mischief. Plus, when I was little I spelled things the British way because Redwall was rubbing off on me.

Like Gonff, I would be without inspiration for my book. I hope to help keep at least some flame of Brian Jacques's works alive in my own works, even if it does not get far from my door. I have enjoyed so much time reading his books, using my imagination to draw the events in my mind, and expand my powers of thought. It is interesting how so much can be gleaned from a series, and Mr. Jacques's is no exception. I hope his books and works will live through the decades.

Five years already? Wow, it really has been a while. Now look where the community is: a new forum and still just as huge a community (LOVE this new shout box), a video game in the works, kickstarters, fanfictions, new friends, great books - a fantastic legacy, Mr. Jacques!
