The Royal Navy, however, had bad warships, the 120 guns of the Indubitable were 115 muskets and five nine pounders, not even powerful enough to get through a Ship-of-the-Line's sides.

Napoleon had been beating the the English everywhere and had complete control of the sea and the European continent. Soon he (Napoleon) would launch a massive invasion of England, but first he sent in 25 Ships-of-the-Line to destroy the only two ships left in the North Sea, a mail runner, the Terrified, and Fredrick's brigantine, the Indubitable. The French ships and crews were the best in the world, as a result Fredrick, fearing greatly for his life, fled to the South Shetland Islands, near Antarctica.

About a year later Fredrick heard word of an English victory against the French, King George was now the master of Europe by some miraculous turn of events. Fredrick immediately returned to England only to be arrested as a traitor and sent to jail in Xai-Xai, an English colony in Mozabique.
