The Lady Shael

So, those of you who are fans of the Harry Potter series, have you heard about Pottermore yet? JK Rowling just released the news today.

I was slightly disappointed (I was hoping she was going to write more books), but this interactive website looks like it could really fun, and JKR plans to reveal a lot of HP information she's been wanting to tell us for a long time. Just gotta wait till October. =)

I've heard lots about it and watched the first movie, but nothing more.

Looks cool!
I won't be on this forum much anymore, but I'll pop in to say hi every now and then.

I'm a beta tester. :) But I haven't received the email to actually let me in yet.

I couldn't be bothered to get up super early to wait for that quill thingy (since everyone tends to overlook PST when it comes to things like this), so...I'm just waiting for another month and a half or so, when they let the rest of us in. :)

The last couple of days had more pst-friendly times but the majority of them didn't. They could at least have announced some timezone details more than an hour or two in advance. It would have probably saved them on a couple of site overloads too.

Yeah, I got in on one of the days with a better time; the question was released at 9:30 Central time.  I woke up, did some chores, and sat around refreshing the screen for ten minutes until it was posted.  I haven't gotten the second email about entering the site yet, though.

My sister is on... It looks so awesome, I can't wait!
Received mostly negative reviews.

I got into it last week.  I was sorted into Gryffindor; I wanted to be Ravenclaw.

Coobreedan

I've read all of the books and watched the first three films. I've always wanted to go to Hogwarts; in October I can.  :D

I've read the first book. This site looks really neat!

Hope you don't mind me digging this up...

I've got a Pottermore account - it's fun! :D I like seeing the interpretations of the parts of the books which are actually closer to what we read in the novels rather than just copying what we saw in the less impressive films.

Has anyone else now got one and still using it? The fourth book got released yesterday. :D If anyone is, want to become friends? I've done all three books and only have two friends!

I was one of the "early access" people.  I haven't been on it in a couple months - they've changed a lot! I'm a Gryffindor, which is my second-favorite house (I was hoping to be a Ravenclaw), so I'm satisfied.

I really like all of JK Rowling's little backstories.  I think Remus Lupin's is the most interesting so far.

Ah'm in Ravenclav. Ah've juzt tried a fev zin'z, but zae far tiz really major!

-Sometime later, the second mate was unexpectedly rescued by the subplot, which had been trailing a bit behind the boat (and the plot). The whole story moved along.

I haven't been on Pottermore for ages! I'm going to sign up again and find out my wand and house. Bear with me. Pretty sure I'll be sorted in to Ravenclaw, but I've been put in Slytherin a few times so we'll see.

EDIT: My wand is ebony with dragon heartstring, 13 inches, hard. Nice.
"This jet-black wand wood has an impressive appearance and reputation, being highly suited to all manner of combative magic, and to Transfiguration. Ebony is happiest in the hand of those with the courage to be themselves. Frequently non-conformist, highly individual or comfortable with the status of outsider, ebony wand owners have been found both among the ranks of the Order of the Phoenix and among the Death Eaters. In my experience the ebony wand’s perfect match is one who will hold fast to his or her beliefs, no matter what the external pressure, and will not be swayed lightly from their purpose."
Yep.
"As a rule, dragon heartstrings produce wands with the most power, and which are capable of the most flamboyant spells. Dragon wands tend to learn more quickly than other types. While they can change allegiance if won from their original master, they always bond strongly with the current owner.

The dragon wand tends to be easiest to turn to the Dark Arts, though it will not incline that way of its own accord. It is also the most prone of the three cores to accidents, being somewhat temperamental."

EDIT AGAIN: RAVENCLAW. Yay. That was fun.
