It's from Terminator 2.  He's a robot, but yes, he dies.  He traveled back in time and, in the end, decided to destroy himself instead letting the technology in his body fall into the wrong hands.

Well, since he traveled back in time, and he was a robot, that means that his body contained technology from the future.  And, instead of letting that technology fall into the wrong hands, he decided to destroy himself instead.
