The first redwall book I ever read was Redwall. It was the first book that I ever read and liked (in fact I loved it). I read them all in order, besides Mattimeo. That one I had to skip, because I couldn't find it anywhere. I eventually had to buy it off Barnsandnoble.com.

Slightly off topic: Martin the Warrior was the saddest one of them all.

I won't be on this forum much anymore, but I'll pop in to say hi every now and then.

Captain Tammo

I read the long patrol with my dad, but he became so busy that we never finished it even today :'( so the first book I read all the way through was High Rhulain. It's odd how the first ones you read are always your favorite... At least in my case

Log-a-Log

I read Redwall first, and I didn't even realize it was a series until I saw my brother reading Mossflower

I read Mattimeo first.  Well, actually my dad did.  When my sister and I were little, my dad would read us a book for about half an hour before we went to bed.  When we had read all of the Joan Aiken books our library had (a GREAT series, btw) the librarian suggested we try Redwall.  We read Mattimeo first, then Redwall (I think) and then Mossflower  (I think) and then Salamandastron.  Somewhere we skipped a bunch of books and went to Salamandastron.  Been hooked ever since!  Now my dad is reading them to my little brother (9 years younger than me).  I still like listening it.  :)

Blademaster

Martin the warrior was the only interesting book in my class library. I picked it up and there started the greatest literary adventure of my young life.  :)

If our love's insanity why are you my clarity?

I read Redwall first. It took me months to discover that there were other books! Then I read them totally out of order....with Bellmaker before Mariel, etc.
Living in peace, aye many a season,
Calm in life and sound in reason,,
'Til evil arrives, a wicked horde,
Driving a warrior to pick up his sword,
The challenger rings then, straight and fair,
Justice is with us, beware. Beware!

Trisscar Swordmaid, look, behold,
What is sought by everyone.
Now! Ere high noon light moves on.'
