*watches for a moment before dashing around a corner and curling up on the floor, sobbing*

[Kade Rivok]

*Sits back against a wall, cloth held to his face as waves to pain washed over him.  He could feel the blood soaking through the cloth, but it seemed like the pace of the red liquids flow was slowing.*

[Ebantu the Kararehe]

(So much drama )

*sits up and tries to slow my breathing, listening closely for any sound from around the corner*

[Kade Rivok]

(You cut my beautiful face!  And not just a little bit  )

*Slowly feels his consciousness starting to fade.  He isn't sure if he's just tired, or if it's from blood loss, but the Otterbadger drifts into a fitful sleep.*

[Ebantu the Kararehe]

*pokes head around the corner and whispers* Kade? *receives no reply and slowly creeps over to him* *brushes his cheek with fingertip, claws well and truly retracted* I wish I didn't have claws. They only hurt people.

[Kade Rivok]

*Twitches and comes back awake as Eb touches his face.  Has calmed down and doesn't jerk away, but says in a low voice.*  You shouldn't blame your claws for an action you decided to take, Eb.

[Ebantu the Kararehe]

*squeezes eyes shut, trying not to cry* I know. *chokes* I'm so sorry, Kade. *thumps head against the wall*

[Kade Rivok]

...Yeah.  *Puts a paw to his face.*  Well, at least the bleeding seems to have stopped.

[Ebantu the Kararehe]

*sits down beside him and moves to lay a paw on his, then stops and folds my paws in my lap instead* I...shouldn't have done that, but do you understand why I did?

[Kade Rivok]

Not especially.  No matter what you did, I would never hurt you, after all.

[Ebantu the Kararehe]

*stiffens* Oh really? I remember being threatened by you on several occasions. You may not have followed through very often, but still!

[Kade Rivok]

Since being married, I've never hurt you, and any so called "threats" were made under the assumption that you already knew that I never would.

[Ebantu the Kararehe]

Never assume. I was scared.

[Kade Rivok]

And I have a shredded face.

*turns away and shoulders begin to shake with silent sobs*
