Oh, we all know what bean means, as a word. It's a kind of legume. (The kind Jack planted in the fairytale, then climbed and robbed the giant)
The part we're not sure about is where the habit of calling everybeast bean came from.

Because we're human beans. Well, on the forum we're various different species of animal (that usually, but not always, appear in Redwall) beans, but the point still stands.
