That was seriously how April Fool's Day started. When they moved January and February from the end of the year to the start, some people still celebrated New Year's on April 1st (that is, celebrations began in March, and finished on April 1st). April 1st just so happens to be the birthday of Fred and George Weasley.

One of the early April Fool's day events on Club Penguin was the box world (home of orange puffles).
