You missed him trying to take over the Cellars, for, what I presume was, an April Fool's joke. Either that or he really was possessed by bloodthirsty little beasts.

He wasn't very successful.  He may try again later, though.

Depends. Some people only do April Fool's jokes up until midday. I'm not sure on timezones, though. He seems to be back to normal.
