If a film has been made from a book, it is essential to read the book before watching the film.

What's good sense is to try and enjoy both mediums to their fullest extent.  If you read the book first, you most likely won't enjoy the movie as much, whereas if you watch the movie first, that likely won't have any real impact on how much you enjoy the book.  It may make you enjoy it even more.

Hey, I'm not saying you HAVE to or NEED to see the movie first, I'm just making the argument that it isn't the end of the world if you do.  You'll likely end up enjoying both more than you would have otherwise.   ^-^
