Excuse me. How dare you say such a thing or imply that a lady such as myself would give you any reason to dodge? I do not pay any heed to the opinions of such animals and I will not be offended by your remarks. My husband is better than you could even hope to become, let alone how you are now. When you've become half as good as he is, I may give you the price of eggs. Until then, keep your unkind comments to yourself.

The comment being "unkind" was only your projection upon the statement, as I merely spoke the truth and nothing but.  You, madam, are of a class far higher than him.  It makes me wonder: was it pity that led you to this?  As a puppy looks longingly to be loved, did he look longingly towards you?  I do hope this was not, in fact, the case.  Though, I can think of no other reasoning behind the current circumstances.  Also, I am aware of my own shortcomings; you need not remind me.  Price of eggs indeed.

Lord Brocktree. He is so epic. (I hadn't read The Taggerung at that stage, but Tagg is also a great character. I cried so much in that book, from joy and sadness)

I actually had to put it aside for a few minutes because I was concerned about damaging the book with tears (that and my vision was far too blurry for me to be able to read)
