Well of course you wouldn't see 'em; they stay at my place.  I just head over to your attic when I'm on the clock.

There is no clock in our attic. There is a window thingummy and a catwalk and tons of insulation but that's about it.

"On the clock" is a way of saying that I'm working.  Haunting your house is a job, so when I'm doing it, I'm "on the clock".

Alternatively, you could just be trying to be a smarty pants, which in that case... for shame.
