*Replaces Teer and Kade with cardboard cutouts that I keep on hand for this sort of situation*

*Is suddenly scared.*  Where am I?

I'm not sure actually...

We're in the cupboard. Masika locked us in.

Are you sure there isn't a passage to Narnia in there?

I can't check. Still stuck in Kade's fluff.

Ripred the Gnawer

The second passage to Narnia was through the Wardrobe not a cupboard.
'We stop looking for monsters under the bed when we realize they are inside of us'
"If you gaze long enough into the abyss, it'll gaze back at you"

Fursonas:
Riley: Mountain lion, Sonic the Hedgehog
Amara: African wild dog, The Lion King/The Lion Guard
Masika: Eurasian river otter, Redwall
Mara: Wolf, general

But the first book was when Narnia was created.

Actually, the first published book was Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe. The Magician's Nephew was written alongside the other books, but published last.

Thanks for the artwork Lass, Scott, and Wortshire! (And Dannflower as well for the Worldstate badge.)

Yes but, chronologically, TL,TW&TW was the second.

It was only after Lewis's death that this was put as the first book in the series. While it is the first chronologically, it contains references to the future books and makes more sense when read in the order it was published (before The Last Battle).

Chronologically, this book is the first of the series, taking place long before The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, but it was the second-to-last to be written and published. As such, some editions, going by chronological order, label it as the first book, while others, following the publication order, label it as the sixth (out of seven). Arguably, it works better the latter way, since the reader will know the importance of everything they're seeing to later events (and given the sheer number of references, it seems quite possible that Lewis intended it to be read that way).

I still prefer to read and number everything chronologically.

I'd say first time go for publication, generally, and then chronologically after that.
