  Um, I'm gonna have to say no.    (Though, sorta going along with your blacksmith story, I was at an interactive sort of pioneer museum, and they had a blacksmith shop that you could go into.  They allowed me and my siblings (this was a long, LONG time ago, when I was, oh, maybe 7?) to try and make a horseshoe.  We heated it up and stuck it on the anvil, where I proceeded to try and shape the thing with a hammer.  Unfortunately, my thumb got in the way of the hammer, and let's just say I had a black thumb for the rest of the week.  )
