So, we have a topic to talk about our churches and a topic about our favorite Bible verses, but not really a topic to talk about what we're reading. So, here it is! What are you reading and what are you learning?

NOTE: This is not a topic to debate whether or not the Bible should be read. That is taken for granted. If you want to debate that point, go start your own thread.
Living in peace, aye many a season,
Calm in life and sound in reason,,
'Til evil arrives, a wicked horde,
Driving a warrior to pick up his sword,
The challenger rings then, straight and fair,
Justice is with us, beware. Beware!

Well, I've been reading a chapter in my Bible each night. I just finished Judges, and I'm about to start Ruth. I always loved the story of Ruth.

Have you ever noticed how there seems to be only three books in the Bible talking solely about one character? They are the books of Ruth, Job, and Esther. You can correct me if I'm wrong.

That's one of my favorites, because of all of the visions that John talks about.

And Jonah! Let's not forget him!
I'm reading through the Bible chronologically. I've gotten to the confusing point where I go from Psalms one day, then 1 Chronicles, then back to Psalms, then to the Kings, etc. I love seeing how the psalms fit into the rest of the Bible.
I also read a Proverb a day and a chapter from John because that's what we're studying in church right now.

By myself, I'm reading Joshua using a study guide. I'm finding it really helpful an quite interesting. At bible study we just finished reading through Daniel, which is now one of my favourite books of the bible, and not just because my name is Daniel! I love how faithful to God Daniel was, despite being stolen from Jerusalem and forced to work for the king. I mean, the temple was at Jerusalem, so they couldn't make sacrifices when they were taken to Babylon. Yet Daniel remained faithful to God and God to Daniel. I also love all the crazy visions Daniel has. I'm not sure what we'll be studying next.

And Nightfire, you missed Daniel! And yes guys, I agree, Revalation is awesome. Strange and confusing at times, but awesome.

Did Daniel focus only on Daniel? I thought it included more characters, but was called Daniel because he was the main prophet of the book......obviously it's been too long since I read it. :P

Ah, yes, Daniel. I was gonna include Jonah on that list! Agh! Well, I finished Ruth, so I'm onto I Samuel now. Although, funnily enough, a lot of First and Second Samuel is about David.

It's pretty funny to see how 1&2 Sam. line up with 1&2 Kings and 1&2 Chronicles and the Psalms, too!

Daniel definitely focusses on Daniel. He is in every chapter (I think) and Daniel actually wrote the visions part himself. It contains lots of "I, Daniel"s in it.
