Did you miss the wink? I refer to Just Dance as cheater dancing. And do you really think people would have a problem with playing Just Dance if everyone decided to just have fun and forget how they look while dancing? I've played in larger groups before and usually it will be one person with a remote and everyone else just rocking out to it.
As to your confusion at the many different types of dance, it's not like you have to know all of them! Just learn one at a time! I suggest starting with swing! Maybe I'll have you guys over the next time there's a dance around here. They usually all end up at swing. Maybe it will be a square dance party...we'll still end the night with swing...it's popular in our group.

There are dancers on the screen and you mimic their movements. It's a lot of fun ( and it can count as exercise!)
