It depends upon the version that you are refering to. For most versions it is because the Weasel grew bored with it's surroundings and teleported itself out of there to a better place.

The question of where the Weasels got their powers from I am afraid I cannot answer, due to several anonymous threats made at my person. (In other words, if you want the answer to that question, go ask the Head Weasel. Where he is, I have no clue.)
