I'm looking forward to watch this movie. :)

Funny thing. When I read The Hobbit many years ago, I didn't picture hobbits as looking human-like. I saw them more like fairy tale goblins or something similar. Maybe I imagined them like that, because of Bilbo's character, the fact that he was living in the burrow and the reason why he was taken along on the journey (he was supposed to be a thief).

Bilbo was hired as a burglar actually. That's why the dwarfs hired him. To burgle the treasure from the mountain.

I'm looking forward to it.  I've read the book twice so far - once in sixth grade as a required thing, and once last year for fun.   As far as the actual Lord of the Rings trilogy, I've actually only read the first book, not seen the movies even, which is kind of embarrassing for someone who's as hugely a fantasy fan as me.  I just found The Hobbit and the first two books of the trilogy in new condition at the library booksale, got them for a total of $1.50, so I plan to re-read The Hobbit (in anticipation of the movie) and Fellowship of the Ring, and once again try and tackle the whole trilogy.

I SO WANT TO SEE THE HOBBIT!!!!  It looks awesome!!!  I've read the book and loved it.  I'm now trying to finish the Return of the King.

I probably will see this at some point.  I did like the book when I read it.  I thought hobbits were like dwarves or something of that nature.

Well, considering I've watched the trailer at least 30 times (no exaggerating there), looked through the Internet for any news I could find and the fact I'm a massive fan of the book, I'm pretty sure I'm quite excited for these films.

Have you heard of the 48fps thing? Pretty much, all films since the 1920s have been shot at 24fps, but the first part of this film (don't know yet whether the second one will) will be shot at 48fps, meaning it will look really life-like. This sounds cool, and it is, but there is a heap of bad points as well. But, they'll also show the film at 24fps. By the way, fps means frames per second. I'd suggest seeing it at both 24fps and 48fps.

For those who haven't read the book but want to see the movie, I highly suggest reading it, and I'm sure the others who have read it will agree.
hjey dan, if you like the hobbit so much, try getting on the one ring.net
