I like watching the cartoon version of the hobbit. So cheesey but yet so awesome.

I hope the new movie will be good

I just started reading the book. It's pretty good, kinda like redwall with humans.

interesting

That's just my view, but as it came first, Redwall is more like LoTR with animals.

I want to read The Lord of the Rings, but I'm still waiting to read the Hobbit first. I think I'll understand the Lord of the Rings better if I read the hobbit first

The Hobbit is a LoTR book, it's the first book in the series.  I've heard that it's not necessary to read, but more to help you understand better.  That's the one I'm reading right now.

I know, but it is necessary to read The Hobbit before the Fellowship of the Ring, right? That is what people on yahoo.com said when I looked the question up.

I don't know if it's necessary, but It is a good read either way.

Redwallfan7

^ as long as it makes at least sense, then you're fine.

Redwallfan7

ok. by the way which LOTR book is your favorite? I can't decide yet as I have not read them all yet.

Correction: "The Lord of the Rings" is more a sequel to "The Hobbit". "The Hobbit" was released before "The Lord of the Rings".
Received mostly negative reviews.
