Well I learned how to make a simple dashi stock, perfectly cooked rice, and an easy teriyaki chicken.   The nori in sushi kind of gags me for some reason but I love getting nigiri out at restaurants.  There's also a local ramen shop that does a pretty decent tonkatsu ramen and there's a good tempura place too.  I like everything I've had so far
