I love the Tribes of Redwall: Otters book! I'm so glad they made the otters one before they discontinuted the series.

  When I was watching two river otters swimming around at a zoo I went to, a lady walked up and started telling me a story.  She said that she was looking at the river otters, when a man walked up and watched the river otters with her.  Then he said something along the lines of, "Did you know those are sea otters?"  She tried to explain to him that they were river otters, but he just left saying that they were sea otters.  I just thought, wow.  How can you not tell they are river otters?

Mossflower was the first Redwall book that  I read, and Skipper was the first character that I liked. I named my plush otter Skipper because of that, I think I want him to be named after all the Skippers though. My favorite skippers are the ones in Mossflower and Doomwyte

Me too, and I told my friend about them, but she's not so crazy about them. Her favorite animal is a wolf. Oh well, different animals for different people, I guess.

I named my plush otter Skipper because of that, I think I want him to be named after all the Skippers though.

  You're kidding!  My plush otter is also named Skipper!  I call him Skip.  It was funny, when I got him, I was really into anklets, so I made an anklet for Skip and put it around his neck like a necklace.  I still have Skip and the necklace.  If I'm not mistaken, I also have a teeny plastic sword on the back of that necklace.  And a tail ring, aka a fake ring that I bent out of shape and put it around his tail.

Rats are my favorite animals but otters are a close second! We have river otters at the Buffalo zoo and they're hysterical so cute.

Here's a great video of Asian Small-clawed otters fighting off a crocodile! Moral of the story: even in real life, vermin can't hold a candle to the otter crew

I think they're all highly intelligent and amazing animals, but domestic Norway rats and African Pouched Rats are my favorites.  I have pet domestic rats.  They're seriously the best pets ever.
