Do you think some people are too obsessed with celebrities?

No, it's fun to be obsessed with big stars

Yes, of course. They're just people, not gods

For me, I like a few celebrities, but I don't obsess over them, like some people do. Obsession in Hollywood is silly to me, since some people act as if some celebs are like gods, when all they are is just people at their job. Like I think it's silly when a person wants to copy a trend that a celeb did, or own something that a celeb "supposedly" once owned.

Thoughts?

I not obsessed but I like Adam Young. His music isn't about partying forever or seeing a person and going crazy over them. A lot are about nature.

I mean, they put celebrities higher then priests. And Catholics should be putting priests and whoever higher then any body else.

I definitely think celebrities are overrated. They're not perfect.

Most of the celebrity junk makes me sick.  I have certain ones that I'm a fan of, but I think all the people obsessed with who's fat or anorexic or getting a divorce or whatever is just ridiculous. Seriously, you can't think of any better way to spend your time? All the books you could read, or foods you could cook, or volunteer work you could do.  Even watching a lot of TV programs would be a better use of time.  They're just people.  They're not deserving of all the insane attention (or their ridiculous paychecks).

My opinion, of course.

I can't stand celebrities. They are so annoying.

well, I think some celebs have good qualities. I can't stand reality stars though, reality shows seem really annoying to me. I do think most of Hollywood is over rated, and I like the Redwall world better than the Hollywood world. I only like a select few, and when I do like them, I don't go too overboard.

Celebrities haven't done very much to deserve much praise.  Sure, they look great on the silver screen but how well do they do in the real world (not money wise)

I'm not going to include stereo types in my statement.  People always say that celebrities are all jerks. That's like saying all asian people are good at table tennis. (using a simple stereo tyoe so nobody is offended) many celebrities care about the environment, and give to charity.  I'd say the magazine writers need to slow down and stop gossiping on the latest girlfriend of Justin Beiber.  It gets really old.

that comment wasn't directed towards you, it was more just my opinion on the topic.

I don't really have as much of a problem with the celebrities themselves as much as I have a problem with people obsessing over them too much. I've heard of some people using a certain product just because one of their favorite stars uses it, for example.

yeah, and the 1D (one direction) door hangers, posters, and about a million other random useless things that people will buy because there's a "hot" person on it.  No offence to you One Direction fans out there, but still.

No offense taken. I was never really a fan, they're decent for their targeted age group, but I would never want to listen to them again. I heard "What makes you beautiful" and they remind me of Justin Bieber, which I don't care for.

I dislike Justin Bieber more that One Direction. There's a funny flash game where you have to protect his hair from fangirls that want some.  I just purposely lost to see him bald. ;D
