Mokkan, definitely. He feigned injury tae deceive hiz ziblingz, ztole the tapeztry from them while they were awa', puzhed Lantur aff the cliff an' made it appear tae be an accident, an' made himzelf king. He only died becauze the good guyz needed tae win, zae he waznae really killed like mozt o' the otherz. Realiztically he widae ezcaped.

The best(and my favourite) villain is Razzid Wearat.I mean, come on he got his whole armyinto redwall.

Remember, though, that both Cluny the Scourge and, for that matter, General Ironbeak (and I don't think anyone would consider him a top villain ;)) did the same thing.

To make my argument for who I consider to be the best villain: I rank Cluny the Scourge at the top of all villain lists for a variety of reasons. I  haven't been able to read The Rogue Crew yet, but I have read the plot description, and, aside from all of the skill, etc. that I feel probably Cluny has the edge in, I don't think Razzid can be said to do as well against the heroes.

Yeah, Cluny I think had the most success. He pretty much conquered Redwall, and would of kept it, if not for Matthias. Ungatt Trunn did capture Salamandastron, the only villain to do so, but it was against a few old hares and an old badger

Asmodeus was definitely one of the scariest.

I loved Badredd! He was so funny! Plus he got his entire band into Redwall.

I find that I like a lot of foxes.  I didn't especially like Ruggan Boar, but I like Fortunata[Mossflower] (and the fox Mask played to kill her).  I really like Baddred.  He was awesome!!!  And I loved the Redwallers' pepper bombs!
I didn't really like Ragga Bol, though.  He was frightened of the badger (ack, what was his name?!?! >:(  ) throughout the whole book.  I like the books better where the goodbeasts are frightened of the villains....or at the very least, the bad guy isn't afraid of them.  It really doesn't make the villain seem very threatening.
I haven't read Loamhedge in a while, so someone might want to list some of Ragga's good points.

Edit:  His name was Lonna Bowstripe!  Yay!  I remembered!

Badredd was hilarious. ;D I loved him. So glad he didn't die.

Yeah, have you noticed how Badredd and his band are the few vermin who ever live through the ENTIRE book?
