okay, i got the new redwall figurines and they look absolutely epic! i have matthias with sword and shield, rose of noonvale(i was really excited to see what rose actually looked like , they didn't show her in the books) bungo the mole babe and grumm trencher! must have for any avid redwall fan!

after you take pics of them, upload them to photobucket, then when you mouse over them, click on the bottom thing and paste it here. Photobucket works best for me, it's idiot proof.

I would guess eBay or something similar.  Matthias is completely out of stock forever, they only made a limited run.

You have my interest because I've heard of the figurines and how they're practically impossible to find outside of auction sites.   Your stepdad must've gotten the deal of a lifetime (or the seller had no idea what he had!).  Been there before too with a rare thing or two!

That's cool and all! I'm not really into figurines. I like to imagine. But that's really cool. Why did they make a limited supply, and I'm not sure I get why the figurines are so valuable.

That's precisely why they're so valuable, MatthiasMan.  They only made a limited run because it was one artist, Julie London, who sculpted, reproduced and hand painted the statues.  They are valuable because lots of people want them and there weren't many of them made.

Interesting...the studio you have listed there says you can order the statues of Grumm, Laterose and Bungo for $30 plus shipping for $9.  I actually went ahead and clicked, and sure enough its like they have more of these.  Probably not as popular as the Matthias one of course, but some still exist on the primary market (meaning you won't pay collectors dollars for something that is no longer made).  Matthias' statue is another story altogether.

Right, that was what I wanted to show everyone but forgot to mention it haha.  Those figurines are still available for order.  That's why I was surprised that the OP received Matthias, that's quite a gift.
