I was trying to quote Ash's post to add on to it, but it won't let me. I got an error message saying that the message body was left empty, when it clearly wasn't. And modifying the post to add in the quote makes it not work either.

I've been getting the same problem, James doesn't seem to know what's up. Not even copy-pasting it into a fresh post works whenever that happens. (Which it has, repeatedly, for the Forum CYOA).

I haven't hadn't seen anything like this, so it is was hard for me to comment on how to fix it.

I did see it a moment ago testing for it, though. No clue what's up with that. I don't think I have the time to diagnose and fix this now, but I guess I'll try to figure it out when I come back from my trip.

It doesn't do it *every* time when I quote a post, so it isn't like quoting posts is totally broken. I actually haven't been able to figure out what actions reliably trigger it. If y'all could use the Scientific Method and figure that out, it could save me some trouble.

Update: It looks like if you encapsulate something in a lot of tags (whether it be quotes, bolds, etc), that triggers the error. For now, until I can figure out what's up, don't put stuff in between more than six or so tags and you should be fine.

More Recent Update: It looks like this is a known issue for SMF 2.0.12.
