Braces? Braces hurt. I had braces for almost a year... Not fun. Not fun at all. Braces are mean. Except hey help you. I'm never getting braces just for looks, but, of course, that's just me. I don't care too much about my appearance.

  Neither do I, but I had to get them because my bite is wrong.  Apparently, according to the dentist, if I don't fix my bite, I'll grind away my teeth into nothingness by the time I'm in my 50s or something along those lines.  My teeth are pretty straight already, it's just my bite.
