All the dragons I get seem to be pretty common.

Does that really matter? I try to go for stuff that looks interesting rather than rare. It being rare is a bonus but not really a requirement. Everyone starts off with common dragons, don't worry about it

Turns out the two eggs I have are a Purple and a Spitfire, which can be bred to make the uncommon Ultraviolet Dragon, which looks pretty awesome.

Yep, Limestone,Sunsong and frost something.

Not a Limestone, it's a Nocturne and the other is a Frostbite
