Hillgorse's end was epic in Martin the Warrior. He died so the rest of the slaves could escape

Yeah. I wonder why he wasn't in the show?

Has no one mentioned Saro and Bragoon's death in Loamhedge?  Holding hands and going off "to the land of sunny slopes and quiet streams"?  Tell me you're not bawling right now! :-)
All you cowards of the land and flotsam of the sea
Who murder, pillage, loot whene'er  you please
There's a Long Patrol a waitin', we'll greet you cheerfully,
You'll hear us cry 'Eulalia' on the breeze.

Sorry, I just finished Triss, I'm going to the library to get Loamhedge tomorrow.

What is the hare in High Rulain? Cuthburt? I think he had a pretty heroic death. I wanted to cry when he died.
Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

I was just rereading Mossflower and the part when Mask dies is truly epic. Not only did he protect the hedgehogs and Gingivere, he had to infiltrate Kotir and fool Tsarmina. He was one of the bravest characters

So far, all of your posts are about epic deaths. I agree with you all.  ;D

All those deaths are so heroic.  I found Mellus's death especially shocking.
Trying to stop me reading Redwall is like trying to separate Sabretache from his sabre.  Basically, don't try.

I was reading that during church, and it was like someone punched me in the stomach. It almost literally winded me.   :o :'(
I remember reading the rest of the book, and feeling despondent.  :(
