The night was quiet and a crescent moon hung over Redwall abbey, lighting the grounds with its gentle glow. A shadowy figure could barely be seen, coming out of the abbey and heading toward the pond. Two old friends, Skipper and Headinanothergalaxy were coming out of the gatehouse where they had been having a midnight feast. Skipper waved to HIAG as the weasel headed towards the abbey to sleep the rest of the night away. The shadowy figure had hidden themselves in the reeds around the pond. The assassin pulled out a bow, drew back, and fired at HIAG. Seeing HIAG fall, Skipper rushes forward to be felled by another arrow from the figure. The assassin smiles, their job is done, and heads back towards the abbey for a good night's sleep.

The next morning, the abbot headed out for a morning stroll around the pond, just as he always did. He gasped in horror at the still bodies of Skipper and HIAG, and rushed inside to get the infirmary keeper. Skipper is still breathing shallowly, while HIAG is still as the grave. The infirmary keeper works for the better part of the morning as the redwallers wait in the great hall with baited breath. Midmorning, the infirmary keeper comes down and announces that 'the old riverdog will live to fight again.

After HIAG's burial, the abbot gathers the Redwallers in cavern hole, "I never thought I'd see the day when a Redwaller would kill a fellow," He began, "If any of your have suspicions, please, share them now for the good of Redwall abbey."
