I was wondering if anyone else around here's ever written music about Redwall? Even if it's just lyrics, songs are an important part of the series. Here's one I've written: It's a sonnet to honor Brian Jacques, set to lute. (Note: It's not a real lute. It's just a computerized facsimile.)

The words are:

'Twas sunset over the Mossflower Wood,
and in the Abbey mourners wept and cried.
The tears poured from the order members' hoods,
the hero Brian Jacques had just now died.

Both good and evil beasts had come to see,
the service for the author now deceased.
The warrior Martin gave the eulogy,
and nobeast left with tears still unreleased.

"Today we come to mourn a great hero,
a man who fought with pen instead of sword.
To him we all our very beings owe,
this master of the English written word."

"So join me in the ancient battle call,
Call out with me the old cry of 'Redwall!'"

You can hear the music that goes with it here.

"How great in number are the little minded men." - Titus Maccius Plautus
"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." - Arthur C. Clarke
Hi. I like Marching Band, Redwall, and Latin.

Wot Wot!

A wonderful tribute, bravo!
All you cowards of the land and flotsam of the sea
Who murder, pillage, loot whene'er  you please
There's a Long Patrol a waitin', we'll greet you cheerfully,
You'll hear us cry 'Eulalia' on the breeze.

Redwall is always open, its tables laden, to you and any of good heart.

Very nice!  Have you composed anything else, Redwall-related or otherwise?

Astrognash

Otherwise, yes. Quite a bit. **points to little globe under his picture that serves as a link to his blog, where my music, poetry, prose, and thoughts on life can be found.** There's also another piece I composed for the Terrouge Tribute issue, so that'll be there whenever it goes up.
