Taipan.

Interesting fact: the inland taipan, aka the fierce snake, is the world's most venomous land snake, as proven by studies on mice (one of their natural prey). A single drop of venom can kill about 250 000 mice! And yes, they are from Australia. ;) Also, a tiny amount of the venom may have some medicinal properties (there is some studies on this being carried out). Despite their nickname "the fierce snake", they are actually quite shy (the name refers to the venom).
