Never trust a smiling pirate.  :D

I can do that because I'm awesome.

"It really gets up my nose when publishers call my book another Lord of the Rings. It's my bloody book! I wrote it. And another thing, I didn't have to plunder Norse and European mythology to do it!" - Brian Jacques.

I've got more: Jules Vernes, Christopher Paolini, Brian Perro.

Dawnwing

J.K. Rowling, Erin Hunter (which is really 5 people; Kate Cary's my favorite as she's the one that interacts with fans most right now and I like her particular books in the series best), Kenneth Oppel, G.A. McKevett (she's got this chick-lit mystery series that nobody's heard of that I really like) , Neal Shusterman, David Clement-Davies. I also still have a great fondness for Jean Craighead-George's books too.
