So,I just got hooked on watching liberty's kids and I think its an awesome show! I've watched every single episode this past week and am very impressed! By watching this show, I have begun to appreciate the American revolution in a way that the history books and history classes could never describe!

Isn't that the animated show on PBS?  I saw something like it once...thought about using it for a class lesson, but decided against it because I wanted something more realistic for the students.

It's pretty good. The war episodes are best but sometimes the things they say are not real.

I remembering watching that show for History when I was homeschooled. Good stuff.

What stuff would you say, is not accurate from liberty's kids?

I remember watching that back when it was on TV.  I don't remember much about it though.

Liberty Kids? I've never heard it. Is it any good? Sounds like something to talk about. Hmmm. . . Maybe I'll check it out.

I really don't remember the show anymore, but somehow I remembered the theme (apart from that rapping bit, haha).

Cool. I should start watching the show on youtube.

One thing they give the impression of is that the slaves were captured by "Evil White-men" when actually their own tribes sold them

That's true, I believe they were picked up off the Caribbean and held inside very small quarters to the point where it was impossible to move.  They were eventually sold into to the south where they worked as. For their masters in various tasks ranging from, picking cotton outside to helpiserving their masters in daily household tasks. One thing liberty's kids failed to mention, was that slaves were unable to read or write. Escape was also a dangerous and pretty much unthinkable. ! Even if slaves did try and run away, they wouldn't get far and it wouldn't take long for a white man to identify them as a slave just by the color of their skin. It was a terrible,  illegal, action that should never have happened.

I used to love that show! I used to be able to sing the whole theme song from memory including the rapping bit. I doubt I could do it now, though.
Living in peace, aye many a season,
Calm in life and sound in reason,,
'Til evil arrives, a wicked horde,
Driving a warrior to pick up his sword,
The challenger rings then, straight and fair,
Justice is with us, beware. Beware!

My favorite character was always Onri (is that how his name is spelled?) because he was so funny!!!  :D
I (Martin) am fifteen years old now but I still like to watch it!
