howdy folks! sorry to drop off the radar for so long, bunch of stuff going on.  I'm ok with the match ups also - looks fine to me.  Just have to re-read the description for Nevfae and re-read the threads again to get an idea of what kind/type of fighter this beast is.  But it should be a good 'ol sword battle if I'm not mistaken!  :)  Looking forward to it!

Ok! Sorry for the delays everyone! Round 3 will be up in a little while as well as results posted in the Stats and Results section. As always, if you have a problem or question with the judging results, PM me. Don't post those types of things on these boards. Thanks!

Also: DanielofRedwall if moving right now and did not have time to judge because of all the work he is doing with the moving. As a result, only my scores are being used to this round. He will be back to judge the duels!

Tam and Martin

I've never dueled before. What exactly do you do?

Official standings have been updated on the first post of the cores and stats board. All scores are up and recorded! Away we go with Round 3!

I'm going to open the dueling threads now. Please converse with your partner before posting. I will highlight who gets first move in each thread. It will be randomly decided.

Also for info concerning how to duel please go to the second Tournament archive for examples of duels.

BrookSkimmer

Please direct ALL questions about judging to me VIA PM. Thanks! :D

Multiple posts as I get things under way here...

There are some examples of opener post sup now in the two threads I will be participating in.

Judging is not based off of whether your character "wins" or "looses" their match.  It will be judged based o the same criteria as the other rounds of this tournament.

Be creative, be interesting, show emotion, use your weapons, make this fun and exciting!

hOW WILL WE KNOW WHO WINS?

I haven't done this either, but I would think you and the person you are battling would have to agree as to that - perhaps flip a coin, or play one-potato, two-potato? good question though, perhaps Brook could think of a number .....  :)

I'm thinking not many of the duels will actually end with someone "winning". Please read the posts in the second tournament to see how this is done. There are no points awarded for your character coming out on top in the duel. It is based on your writing skills. For example a character who "loses" the duel could still earn full points in the judging. It's not based off of who "wins".

is it just me, or are there some posts missing?  I've been trying to do some back reading so I can catch up to where everyone is, not that I want to cross someone's duel, but just to see who has what weapon and where they are, etc., and the details seem to have been placed somewhere, but not in the third tournament archive.  Are they gone? or am I just not seeing it? thnx.

Hmmm everything not on the current tournament board should be in the archive. What are you looking for? Maybe I redirected it to the wrong place...

BloodGullet

sorry! false alarm - found it - I forgot both crews were combined into the one "round two (the time has come)" I was trying to re-read what the swords were doing up to the point of the big battle on the beach.  so, ... never mind   ;D
