"Really? That's silly. Why wouldn't you be able to? I never got abbey beasts." he said, sighing. "Anyway, thanks." he said, moving towards the exit.

"And why couldn't you help it, you're just a vermin with a bushy tail to me, treejumper!" Norham was trying to control his temper. He knew if he got any wilder, bad things were going to go down. "You sold us out! We could have died back there, and you simply reply, 'couldn't help it', and just keep reading?!?"

Tailli looked up at Norham, "I'm not reading." She replied, "I'm looking at the pictures." She turned back to her book and flicked a few pages to the next picture.

Norham walked over and slammed the book shut, narrowly missing Talili's paws. "You're ignoring me, I could care less if you can't read!" Norham could feel himself being pulled into a rage.

Antura had finally gotten the hogbabe to go to sleep. Sighing, she got up to find Mabel. He found her sitting at a table in the library with a book in front of her- and Norham yelling at her. Antura hurried forward and put a paw on Norham's shoulder. "Wait! Norham- calm down, please. She can't feel emotions like we do, but she wants to try."

Norham turned to see Antura standing there. He wanted to stop himself, for the sake of everybody in the room, even Talili. Norham slammed the table and stormed out of the room, his senses slowly returning. After he had cooled down,che returned to ask for an apology.

Tailli watched him go and opened the cookbook again. After a bit of flipping through the pages, she found the page she had been on. It had a quickly done drawing of a cake on it, not well done with minute details like the plants book. Tailli didn't as much glance at Antura.

Norham was felt he should say sorry, to both of them. He wanted to, but what had he done. He had nearly strangled Talili, and would have hurt Antura. Norham shuddered, why had he been cursed with this insane power. He shuddered at the thought of hurting the squirell and Antura.

Vash left with a sigh. Now what was he going to do? He walked aimlessly through the hallway.

Sister Baypaw looked through the chest some more, remembering the performers she had traveled with on her way to Redwall. Her eyes began to fill with tears. How she missed her old home! Redwall was a wonderful place, but she wished she could visit Salamandastron. Maybe she could, after the vermin were driven away from the abbey.

Antura looked at Mabel, calmly flipping through the pages of a cookbook. "Mabel?" She ventured cautiously. "Why did you lock that Dibbun in the cupboard? You shouldn't do things like that."

"He wouldn't be quiet." Tailli muttered as she flipped another page, "He got on my nerves."

Riggaeo was glad his plan was working. He had lulled the abbey into a sense of security. He was tunneling, through the ditch and into redwall, and he was building siege towers. His men, though, were afraid, lately, a large, black snake had been haunting the camp.

Vash sighed and walked up to the wall, taking in the view. What had he gotten himself into? And all for some apples...

Norham walked in as Talili was replying to Antura. "Uh, I want to say I'm sorry, to both of you..."

Tailli flick a bored glance at him and went back to the book. She sneezed as the dust was disturbed.
